This 2018 the AUSTRALIAN TRANSPLANT GAMES returns to the Gold Coast for its second time, and it’s all set to be one of the biggest sporting events in Queensland this spring.
The Australian Transplant Games has been held in numerous locations across Australia, and takes place only once every two years. The last time it was held on the Gold Coast was 2002, and it will now return for its second event this 2018. The Australian Transplant Games aims to unite all those who have been given a miraculous second chance at life due to organ donation, and engage them in a number of sporting events and games that will raise awareness for such an important cause all over the world.
The sports and games are open to transplant athletes and transplant supporters, and will take place over one whole week (seven days). These will include athletics, backgammon, badminton, chess, croquet, cycling, darts, golf, lawn bowls, petanque, running, scrabble, soccer, sudoku, swimming, table tennis, ten pin bowling, tennis, triathlon, and volleyball.
The first-ever Australian Transplant Games took place in 1988, and featured a limited number of sports and only 150 competitors. It’s now grown to be one of the most prestigious sporting events in Australia, and it’s not to be missed on the Gold Coast this 2018!
Don’t miss the 2018 Australian Transplant Games on the Gold Coast this spring, which will run from September 30 to October 6.
